Wastebuster Education Centres are exciting hubs of educational activity, designed to explore on-site processes at waste and recycling sites and enrich the learning outside the classroom experience. Interactive installations combine with dynamic education resources and workshops to provide a means for children to learn in context, by practical engagement, and by personal discovery.
Durability, adaptability and overall sustainability are a priority in the design and build of Wastebuster Education Centres. We continually strive to lower our carbon footprint throughout the process of development, from travel and transportation to material selection and waste management.
Wastebuster minimises waste at source, diverts waste from landfill, and actively promotes the waste hierarchy in material procurement and project design to:
- maximise use of the site
- minimise the environmental impact of the build
- maximise use of renewable materials, recycled, repaired and reused materials
- minimise energy consumption through choice of material and technology
- minimise waste
- reject polluting and non recyclable materials.
Carbon and sustainability reporting, from design to build has also become a central aspect of the development process and subsequently the education delivered within our centres.
