Animate and Create
Lights, Camera, Eco-Action!
The children have seen Busta’s films – now they can make one of their own!
Children are both comfortable and familiar with the moving image and it has become one of
their main sources of information, entertainment and identity. Pictures are not only a creative form of expression, they are also an international language. Stop-frame animation is a wonderfully empowering way for children to creatively convey their ideas, concerns and experiences.
The Wastebuster Animation Workshops with Animate and Create provides workshops for young people of all abilities and levels. Every workshop is tailored to a group’s needs and enables them to express creative ideas on the environment, sustainability and waste through storytelling, model making and animation.
All workshops link to the curriculum through ICT, Literacy, PSHE and Citizenship for all Key Stages.
In 2011/12 the animation workshops will be exploring Olympic and Paralympic values, sustainability, waste reduction and recycling.
All workshops are lead by professional animators dedicated to furthering education in a fun and hands-on environment.
In our workshops children get the chance to write their own scripts, make models and animate their characters; making the learning experience more interactive and enjoyable. Skill benefits from the workshops include:
- Planning.
- Communication.
- Group working.
- Building self confidence.
As well as these benefits, children can also benefit from more technical skills through working with digital media.
