What could you do in 9.63 seconds?
Are you short on tennis racquets? Are your pupils dying to try a new sport? It’s not too late to get involved with the London 2012 Legacy project Sport into Schools.
Due to the success of the project, it will be continued throughout 2013 to support schools, community groups and sports clubs across the UK* to ensure a lasting legacy for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralymic Games.

Why get involved?
Sport into Schools is a fantastic way to get free sports equipment for your school, win exclusive prizes and involve young people in learning about the environment with FREE Wastebuster membership.
Simply hold a collection day for unwanted clothes and shoes - no additional storage is needed. We’ll provide you with everything you need to make it easy and stress free. We’ll weigh what you collect and award you with sports points to spend in our store.

We’ll also give you access to exciting and engaging Wastebuster teaching resources for KS1 and KS2 pupils around the theme of waste and the environment.

Sports clubs and community groups
It is now possible for sports clubs and community groups to join Sport into Schools!

Sport into Schools Case Study
Wastebuster at Eco-Schools
Pupils and teachers enjoyed themselves in the Activity Zone making Olympic torches from recycled materials. Special guests Team GB basketball player Jamell Anderson, 4 x 400m relay and 400m runner Donna Fraser and world football freestyle world record holder Dan Magness then led a giant olympic procession to the beat of the famous Wastebuster samba band!

Frequently asked questions
Do you supply hard copy campaign materials and collection sacks?
Yes. You will receive collection day reminder posters, flyers, collection bags and giant playground sacks in your collection pack.
Do we need to have additional storage space for the textiles?
No. We will provide waterproof giant playground bags for you. Please see the 'How does it work page' for details.
When do we get our pack?
A minimum of 10 days before your collection.
Can sports clubs join too?
How do I book a collection?
By emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or logging in and using your online calendar in the 'Your Account' area (in the top right-hand corner of every page).
I’ve lost my login details, can I have a reminder?
Yes. Please email email@example.com and you will receive a password reset email.
How many Sports Points do I get for my textiles?
40,000 Points per tonne. You can go to the Exchange Store to see a selection of 5000 items of sports equipment to choose from, and what their Sports Point value is.
Are there any teaching resources for the project?
Yes. You will find them in the Sport into Schools Get Started Guide.
How many collections can we book?
You may book as many collections as you wish.
When do we get our Sports Points?
A maximum of two weeks after your collection has taken place.
Where do my Sports Points go?
Into your online account – you will find it in the top right hand corner of the screen when you log in.
How do I spend my Sports Points?
Simply login and go to the Exchange Store and you will be able to start ordering items.
Can we join at any time?
Is the programme available to all schools?
Sport into Schools is available to all Primary schools, sports clubs and community groups. Secondary schools, colleges and universities typically have a very low capture rate which results in wasted sacks and campaign materials. As a result, the programme is only available to Primary schools. However, if your secondary school, college or university is keen to be involved, please contact us and we will try to accomodate you: firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: 01483 893550.
Will the programme continue beyond London 2012?
Yes. The programme will be available for the whole of 2012 and if successful the project will be made available to all schools and sports clubs in the UK.
