Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development (TRAID) is a charity committed to protecting the environment and reducing world poverty by recycling and campaigning at home. Since it was founded in July 1999, TRAID has diverted over 12,000 tonnes of textile waste from landfill and donated over £800,000 to health, education and environmental projects in other parts of the world. TRAID also operates the award-winning recycled fashion label, TRAIDRemade.
Belu
Belu Natural Mineral Water has launched the UK’s first biodegradable and compostable plastic bottle. The revolutionary bottle is made from a 100% renewable resource – corn - and can be commercially composted back to soil in 12 weeks, roughly a million years faster than traditional plastics. Belu contributes 100% of its net profits to clean water projects. Working with Water Aid, every bottle of water purchased in the UK provides someone in India or Africa with clean water for one month.
