West Sussex pupils report on Recycle to Read in First News

Well done to Downview Primary School and Warden Park Primary Academy. The schools' pupils, turned reporters, shared their experiences of participating in the Recycle to Read Toys initiative, which offered a first-hand account of the students' involvement in the campaign. The prize-winning articles were featured in First News, a prominent national publication for young readers, in the 12th to the 18th of January issue.

The young West Sussex pupils’ reports were read by readers nationwide. They detailed their efforts of putting up their free Recycle to Read poster packs, organising a Toy Swap at their school for preloved toys, to collecting broken, hard plastic toys for recycling. Recycle to Read Toys, an initiative aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and encouraging the reuse of toys and the recycling of broken hard plastic toys, proved to be an inspiring subject for these aspiring journalists. Their articles not only highlighted the importance of recycling but also underscored the power of collective action in addressing pressing environmental issues. Their voices serve as a reminder that every individual, regardless of age, has the power to make a difference in the world.
